| It is 1876, and the world is dirty, grubby, and unloving. There are societal expectations, and woe betide anyone who does not meet them exactly. There is a special place out in the countryside where the alleged ‘dross’ of young society ares sent.
Teenagers or young boys and girls in their early 20s are sent there and forgotten. Their sins were being chronic bedwetters, cross-dressers, gays or lesbians, street-walkers or rent-boys, transgenders or anyone too soft to be a part of a harsh world.
But inside this special place that no one else ever visited or helped, there was a portal to a very modern facility where they could all be cared for and accepted. Modern food, modern health care and acceptance of who they were.
It was 2032 and this one place on earth was very different than most. |
