Jamie’s mother understood his secret inner self even before he did. When he saw him staring at a young girl’s dress at the age of seven, she simply bought it for him. And when his toilet training failed to materialise, she simply kept up with nappies.

Now at 18, she knew he needed more and found Meadowbrook, a 4-week residential program for people whose gender was different and who mostly still wore nappies.
